How do I know if my idea will turn into a successful business?

There is a saying that I heard more than a decade ago, and I still hold it in my heart when making certain decisions.

Small people talk about people,
average people talk about things,
great people talk about ideas.

If you find that you are one of these rare individuals that has an idea then the first thing you must do is take a bow. I believe that if you want to run with your idea then there are some bases that need to be covered before even teaching your Idea to walk. Without a market your idea will not even arrive to the party let alone making an appearance and staying awhile. Start researching your competition. Talk to other business owners and learn all that it takes to get a business started. Associating with fellow business owners is typically something that is overlooked, but the support system is intense. Think back to your primary years and observe the types of company you kept in the different stages of your life. Usually we associate with the types of people that support the lifestyle we are living.

You might judge yourself based on your interior, but others judge you based on your actions. Get to know what is inside you and learn what drives you. Passion is an ultimate requirement when starting a business, so maybe allow yourself some time. See if you are still as excited in a week, a month, a year. After you have given yourself an appropriate amount of time (not everyone will need the same amount of time), then prepare yourself to continuously educate and be educated. Know the history of the product that you want to deliver as well. Even if you have the most keen business sense around, you still have to know what it is that you are selling.

Essentially what I am saying is, if there is demand for your product and you have exercised the tools required to sell this product from a prime level, then your idea will most certainly turn out to be successful. If your sole focus is to get into business to make money, then it is unfortunate to say, but you will most likely crumble. Customer service is quite nearly, 'the, be all end all' of business. You are getting into business to make customers happy with the service or product that you provide. Of course your goal is to work for yourself and have some financial freedom, but know that if all you see is dollar signs, you will fail at being human and fellow humans do not respond well to that.

You will know your idea will turn into a successful business, when you are honest with yourself.

Personally, I believe in anyone who believes in his/herself.

I invite you to learn more with us every Tuesday and Friday as I share the information I have learned and am still learning on business, financial growth and financial freedom.
